Veggies and Ironing

This time of year is always so busy, with the end of school and all that entails.  Gardening tasks seem to multiply this time of year too.  We planted the veggies about a week and a half ago.  This year we are determined to keep the deer from decimating the garden.  My husband has been busy making a permanent enclosure for our garden.  It's not quite done yet since we had to travel for family events over the long weekend.  Hopefully he'll get it done by next week since the plants are really coming in fast.  (Except for my lettuce.  I'm a little sad about that.)  Once it's done, we are hoping to add in some boxes for strawberries and maybe some dwarf blueberries too.

I sent my daughter out to grab a photo of the garden this morning.  Here it is.

My kids, especially my son, have been going crazy with the Perler beads lately.  Often I will head to my cutting/ironing table and find it completely covered with their creations awaiting ironing.
My son's creations.  Mostly Mario and Pokemon here.
My daughter's.  She is a huge Pokemon fan in case you couldn't tell.
That top one was horrible to iron.  It's huge!  It broke several times during the ironing process.
In sewing news, I'm caught up again on the 365 blocks.  I'm still behind on the Fig Tree BOM since I can't seem to wrap my brain around what I'm supposed to do for three blocks from last month.  I am working on my Fat Quarter Shop EPP piece I started at Christmas.  I have to sew the piece to the background and it is too much like appliqu√© for my liking.
I signed up for a quick turn-around mini quilt swap using Bonnie & Camille fabrics.  My guild is doing another swap that has sign-ups this month.  I also need to make a sample bag for Sew Powerful since I believe I'm still on the schedule to present it at the June guild meeting (next week).  And I need to make my last birthday swap gift that also gets mailed out next week.
